If you’ve just Googled “yoga retreat Sri Lanka beach” or “best yoga retreat in Sri Lanka,” let’s address the obvious: yes, we do run a yoga retreat. Yes, we’re in Sri Lanka. Yes, we’re right on the beach, tucked into a secluded cove on the south coast.

But… we’re not exactly your typical yoga retreat.
We don’t do silent mornings (unless you count the pre-coffee shuffle to yoga). We don’t promise life-changing transformations (though, to be fair, some guests leave feeling a little bit different). And while we take our yoga and mindfulness seriously, we don’t take ourselves too seriously.
At Soul & Surf Sri Lanka, yoga is part of your daily rhythm. Sunrise yoga on the shala roof, sunset yin sessions to unravel surf-tired muscles, the odd breathwork or meditation workshop to help you slow down.
But this isn’t an ashram. After yoga, you’ll grab your board and paddle out for a surf (yep, we include daily surf guiding and lessons too). Or maybe just grab a smoothie and sit on the beach for a bit.
And when we say beach yoga retreat in Sri Lanka, we mean it. You’re staying right above the sand, with the Indian Ocean rolling in just metres from where you unroll your mat.
People come to us for the yoga, stay for the surf, and come back for the atmosphere (and maybe the breakfast smoothies... we’re just saying).
We’re about slowing down, moving your body, eating well, and getting a bit sun-dazed in the process. It’s yoga with sandy feet, mindfulness with a side of sea spray, and sunsets with a cold ginger beer in hand.
So… are we the best yoga retreat in Sri Lanka?
If you’re after strict schedules, silent meals, or back-to-back vinyasa marathons… probably not.
But if you want yoga and surf and a laid-back, salty, soulful kind of experience?
We might just be your spot.
