A raw, low-key celebration of the creative, soulful, less commercial edge of surfing in Sri Lanka, hosted at the Cove, right out front of Soul & Surf’s living room – The Canteen. This will be our third year running the Jam, and because the last two were such a vibe, we’re keeping it largely the same. A few operational upgrades behind the scenes, but if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.

Cove Surf Jam is an invitational event to showcase and celebrate the love for alternative surfing. More than a comp, the weekend is built around expression sessions, log jams, and alternative craft surfing, all scored loosely on style, vibe, and steeze. Above all, it’s about creating a welcoming space for single fins, twin fins, alternative boards, locals, travellers, and anyone who wants to join the fun.

We’ll have local surfers sharing the line-up with resident and visiting riders. On land, there’ll be board shapers, small brands, pop-up stalls, soulful surf films, DJ sets, a floating boat bar, and grills on the beach.

Essentially, it’s a space for all the weirdos and misfits of the island to come together and share their love for surfing in a not-so-serious, creative way.

Saturday 7th

• 6am to 12pm – Log Jam
• 8am – 10k run raising funds for Hey Sister NGO

• 2pm – 4pm Music Jam
• 4pm – 6pm Expression Session – wild surfing on any kind of craft – alt. Scoring – Hip Hop DJ set with Sunara
• 6.30pm – Sea Sisters present: Women’s Surf Movie Screening with Canteen Craft Burgers and Shit Beer at the Canteen
• Official Cove Surf Jam afterparty at Ceylon Sliders until 2am 

Sunday 8th

• 6am to 12pm –  Anything But A Shortboard – Fish, mid-length, bonzers, aysmms, finless, handplanes, surf mats, etc Jam
• Anything-But-A-Shortboard Final sounds by Ed Templeton and Lara Swann
• All day Market / Pop-Up Shops at Soul & Surf and Kaffi
• All day Boat Float
• All Day Pool Party at Sunset Cove
• All day BBQ’s at the Canteen
• Breakfast Buns and Bloody Marys
