The friendly small print. By entering the Cove Surf Jam 2027 design open call, you agree that:
Anybody is eligible to enter.
Your entry should include a poster and a T-shirt mock-up and arrive by 15 October 2026.
The work must be yours. References are welcome; copying someone else’s work is not. AI tools may be used, but you must disclose in the application how you used them. You must have permission to use all images, fonts, assets and other material included in your submission.
The selected concept may change during collaboration. That is part of the fun.
You retain ownership of your initial submission while it is being considered. By entering, you give Soul & Surf permission to view, copy and store it for judging and administration. If your submission is not selected, we will not use it as event artwork, merchandise or other commercial material.
If your concept is selected, you will be asked to sign a separate written agreement transferring ownership of the selected concept and all final artwork created under the follow-on brief to Soul & Surf. The transfer will take effect once the agreed €500 fee has been paid. Soul & Surf will then own the copyright and may use the work worldwide for Cove Surf Jam 2027, including event promotion, social media, websites, posters, signage, apparel, merchandise, press, documentation and future archive or retrospective material.
Soul & Surf may resize, crop, reformat, animate, reproduce, edit and otherwise adapt the selected and final artwork for those purposes. We may also provide it to our in-house designer, printers, manufacturers, production partners and other suppliers involved in delivering or promoting the event.
The selected designer may show the selected concept and final artwork in their portfolio, website and social channels after the work has been publicly launched, unless a different date is agreed. This permission is for personal promotion only; the work may not be sold, licensed or reused for another client, event or product without Soul & Surf’s written permission.
If selected, you will receive €500 for the follow-on design work set out in a separate brief and collaborate with Ed to develop the final Cove Surf Jam identity. The fee includes the agreed final designs, production-ready exports and organised editable source files. Soul & Surf’s in-house designer may make reasonable technical, production or last-minute adjustments to the final artwork where needed for Cove Surf Jam 2027.
Entries will be judged on originality and hitting the brief. The judges’ decision is final, although nobody will pretend design is completely objective.
We may disqualify entries that are late, offensive, copied, incomplete or technically impossible to open.
We may adjust the timeline if something unexpected happens. Any important changes will be announced through Instagram.
