Now that we’re fully settled here we want to share our beautiful jungle hideaway with as many people as we can and what better way than to open up our yoga studio for outside guests. We believe that yoga is best practiced around sunrise or sunset and we pick the best teachers to inspire you to practice yoga, whether you’re a beginner or a more seasoned yogi. Music is really important to us and so we make sure we bend and breathe whilst listening to some seriously good tunes. Below you can find all the information you need on how and when to attend a class.

Along with your yoga class you will receive a complimentary energy ball and tea or coffee. Please feel free to bring your swim stuff for a splash around in the pool or a chill on the loungers.
Plan to arrive a bit early for class (10/15 minutes) so we can get you settled, take payments and have a chat to the teacher for any questions you might have. Classes are all 75 minutes.
We have a full schedule of classes at a range of times. As the seasons change, so does our scheduling – please check back here close to your visit for latest updates’
Guests staying at S&S for the full week of Surf and Yoga will be attending the 6.30am classes, as part of their package. You are more than welcome to join in on any of these sunrise classes but please be aware that these classes will progress from Sunday-Friday, and may build on themes throughout the week. However each of our classes are an ‘all levels’ ability class, feel free to do as much or as little as you can and enjoy working on a specific theme from day to day.
The rest of the timetabled classes are ‘open’ drop-ins and are available to our retreat guests as well as anyone else who wants to join. They will not necessarily have a specific outlined theme, we’re creatives at Soul & Surf and we like our yoga to be too.
During the Low Season we are running the Saturday 8am class for pre-bookings only. To sign up for Saturday morning Slow Flow, please email firstname.lastname@example.org to let us know you wish to attend – by Friday 5pm at the latest. To drop in to one of any of our other yoga classes you can just come along, or feel free to email us to discuss anything regarding your visit.
Once you arrive at Soul & Surf there will be a sign in sheet as you enter the studio for you to note down your attendance and whether you are on a class pass or drop in.

We understand that life doesn’t always run as smoothly as we hope and that sometimes you might be late. If this is the case please understand that the class will have already started and the teacher will be busy unveiling her wisdom upon the students and may not be there to meet you. Please make your way up the stairs and as quietly as you can… join the class. The teacher will approach you when she can. We ask that you clean up after yourself and give your mat a little spray down with the equipment provided and roll it up placing it back in the designated area.
What to bring, what to wear?
We provide mats and bolsters so no need to bring unless you are attached to one and want to. Our studio is really rather cool and fully fitted with fans so feel free to wear leggings or shorts. We would recommend leggings if you’re trying to work on slightly more advanced postures just so you don’t slip around on your skin! But that’s just from our experience. Our venue is fully fitted with a public toilet and free water points to refill your bottle or just to have a glass that you’ll find provided.
Where are we?
I know we said jungle hideaway, and we mean it…But here’s some simple directions if you get lost, just ask for Soul & Surf or Duwa villas, you’ll find us!
Soul&Surf, Duwa Villas, Henawathatha, Talduwa, Ahangama 80650
From the Galle-Matara beach road, take the turning directly opposite Sion Surf Camp to the south of Ahangama town. The turning is sign-posted to Soul & Surf.
Heading inland keep following this road over the railway tracks and through twists and turns, after about 1.5km you will pass a big Buddhist temple on your right and just after a Car garage on your right.
Directly after the garage take the right hand turn (there’s a small village shop on the corner of the turning) and follow this road around the bends, over a small bridge and round to the right past a small temple… Keep going until Soul & Surf appears on your left!
We have grey concrete walls, and a Soul & Surf sign out front.
