Jobs

We have a few seasonal positions available in India and Sri Lanka for winter 2019/2029. We have loads of applications for these positions so do what you can to stand out and convince us that you’re right for Soul & Surf and you get our philosophy. We’re not right for everyone so be sure to know what we’re about.  For example If you’re looking for a surf camp, party, party vibe we’re not for you.

If you’re looking to be part of a team with a great ethical philosophy and are willing to be a part of this small team and be more than just your job title, to be a team player, to be a host, to be part of the overall quality control, to share our core beliefs and ethos, to work hard to achieve good things and to be a thoroughly good person then we’ll stick with you in the long term, help you to grow your role and train you to achieve more and the benefits will grow.

Apply using the form on this page and give us a quick overview paragraph or two with the reasons why you’d be a good fit for Soul & Surf in particular demonstrating a good understanding of us, our ethos and our background, plus your CV and salary expectations. If you don’t put all this lot together for us we’ll have to presume you’re not really serious about the position.

Surf Photographer - India

Receiving Applications

We’re on the hunt for a freelance surf photographer who is experienced, professional and has an entrepreneurial attitude, to join us in India for the start of our next season (from September 2019 until Januray 2020).

The job will suit a photographer who likes more than just surf – someone who has the desire to spend winter immersed in the unique and vibrant culture of the tropics, and to help us capture that on camera.

As a freelance surf photographer you will shadow the surf team and be on hand to photograph the guests during their morning lessons, and guided surf trips. It will be your responsibility to communicate with guests and manage sales; the salary is commission based and in our experience photographers who engage with our guests at meal times, who arrange photo viewing sessions throughout the week and put packages together to show at our film nights do much better than those who sit back and wait. It’s up to you.

We also require a couple of times a week for you to film guests for video correction sessions in conjunction with the head surf coach and to provide shots of daily life at Soul & Surf for our website and social media. In exchange we offer accommodation in a shared room, staff meals, yoga lessons and time in the water.

Use the form below to contact us and give us a quick overview paragraph or two with the reasons why you’d be a good fit for Soul & Surf in particular demonstrating a good understanding of us, our ethos and our background, plus attach your CV and portfolio. If you don’t put all this lot together for us we’ll have to presume you’re not really serious about the position.

Therapist - Kerala

Jan/Feb – April 2020

We’re on the hunt for an experienced masseur/therapist with a unique offering and the desire to spend some of your winter in incredible India (and to partake in some surf and yoga, too, if that’s your thing!)

You must have a minimum of two years’ experience working as a professional therapist, and be qualified to offer at least three types of treatment, including deep tissue and holistic. Ideally you’ll also have some experience working in tropical climates such as Sri Lanka or India.

Please don’t expect this to be a gig where you just show up at a pre-prepared room 5mins before each session. Our therapists are a key part of our team and will need to manage all aspects of the department and to get to know our guests in order to book treatments. That means problem solving, fixing, organising, promoting, admin, accounting and beyond.

If you’d be interested in applying, please use the form below to contact us and give us a quick overview paragraph or two with the reasons why you’d be a good fit for Soul & Surf, in particular demonstrating a good understanding of us, our ethos and our background, plus attach your CV.

Please also send us a short paragraph about your philosophy and approach to massage therapy; what inspires you to help others? What have been some your personal discoveries since working in therapy and body work?
