As part of our Summer Sessions, Soul & Surf are popping up in London for an afternoon Yoga and Meditation with Jessamin Landamore (S&S Sri Lanka) and Joey Hulin (Horizon Inspired).

Join us for practical, no-nonsense meditation workshops and deeply blissful guided visualisations with Joey, signature S&S yoga flows with Jessamin and delicious post class snacks, as we bring a little bit of Soul to the city.

We’re excited to be collaborating with Joey Hulin from Horizon Inspired for the second time this year – in March Joey joined us in Sri Lanka for our Mindfulness Week, and we loved her down to earth approach to meditation so much, we couldn’t wait to share it with our friends back home.

So, if you’ve been interested in developing a meditation practice but don’t know where to start, or you want to immerse yourself in yoga and meditation without having to jump on a plane to see us in tropical climes, then be sure to join us.

Jessamin will guide us through a delicious 75minute Vinyasa Flow, as we reconnect to our bodies and find space to breathe in an embodied moving meditation. Jessamin’s creative and mindfully choreographed sequencing weaves together deep, alignment-focused asana (postures) and pranayama (breathing techniques) with hands-on-assists, heavenly scents and soulful sounds, leaving students grounded and uplifted in equal measure.

Healthy snacks, juices and teas will be provided throughout to keep us nourished and supported (it just wouldn’t be a Soul & Surf party without some kinda delicious snack, right?)

More about the Introduction to Meditation workshop

This workshop will explore the very basics of what meditation is and will offer you a down to earth, approachable and inspiring insight into how, through simple techniques, you can quiet your mind to find a moment of peace in a busy world.

We will explore different approaches, theories, philosophies and schools of thought and the science behind meditation and mindfulness, with a view to help you start to build your own self practice at home.

Benefits: It has been scientifically proven that regular meditation practice can help reduce stress, anxiety and depression; Increase creativity and focus; and improve relationships, general health and wellbeing.

Outcome: By the end of the workshop you should have a good basic understanding of what mediation is, the benefits, an approach to meditation that feels right for you and how you can incorporate that into your daily life.

Joey is founder of Cornwall, UK based Horizon Inspired and offers written inspiration in magazines, blogs and book alongside wellbeing retreats, meditation and one to one support. Horizon Inspired seeks to create a non-judgemental, down to earth and uplifting space for busy people to step into to slow down, reconnect and feel empowered to be the most authentic expression of themselves.

About Jessamin
Jessamin’s movement journey began in the mid-2000s with a fulfilling international career as a professional dancer and performer in theatre, film and opera. During this time she started integrating yoga into her daily dance training, as a method of grounding, energising and realigning the body while on tour.

Jessamin went on to study intensively with leading Vinyasa Flow teachers Claire Missingham, Shiva Rea and Abby Hoffmann, culminating in her becoming a Yoga Alliance UK-certified yoga teacher with over 400 hours of training behind her. She now teaches yoga to professional dancers, surfers and yoga students around the world.
