Company admin & project manager

Soul & Surf Ltd is currently seeking the services of a professional, motivated, well-organised and sociable person to support Soul & Surf and its subsidiaries with administration, organization, ad-hoc project management – and basically getting stuff done.

You’ll be responsible for helping our founders, and other key managers within the business, with day-to-day administrative tasks including data processing, calendar management and handling and liaising with key suppliers. You’ll support with bookkeeping and financial administration, so a background or interest in finance would be beneficial. There’s opportunities for ad-hoc project management, too.

This is a diverse and varied role that will suit someone who has impeccable organisation and time management skills, and a good eye for detail – but who is sociable and enjoys working with people, too.

Surf Photographer

We’re on the hunt for freelance surf photographers who are experienced, professional and have an entrepreneurial attitude, to join us in India or Sri Lanka.

The job will suit a photographer who likes more than just surf – someone who has the desire to spend winter immersed in the unique and vibrant culture of the tropics, and to help us capture that on camera.

As a freelance surf photographer you will shadow the surf team and be on hand to photograph the guests during their morning lessons, and guided surf trips. It will be your responsibility to communicate with guests and manage sales; the salary is commission based and in our experience photographers who engage with our guests at meal times, who arrange photo viewing sessions throughout the week and put packages together to show at our film nights do much better than those who sit back and wait. It’s up to you.

We also require a couple of times a week for you to film guests for video correction sessions in conjunction with the head surf coach and to provide shots of daily life at Soul & Surf for our website and social media. In exchange we offer accommodation in a shared room, staff meals, yoga lessons and time in the water.

Head Surf Coach - Level 2

We are looking for a head coach with some solid experience to help us develop, and implement a thorough, detailed and professional weekly surf lesson development plan to include different levels of surfers, theory lessons and video correction sessions, with the ability to tailor aspects of the lessons to each guests needs to achieve the best possible progression for all within their week’s stay with us.

You will also oversee the more experienced surfers daily surf guides and be in charge of 1 or 2 other qualified instructors and two local assistants and will ensure all aspects of the surf department are running smoothly from equipment to vehicles to staff morale. As a key team member you will be required to act as a host throughout a guests stay, attending meals and events and helping the senior management team to get things done.

Experience of working and living in developing countries is a distinct advantage, experience in India or Sri Lanka even more so. Current surf coaching qualifications, beach lifeguard and professional liability insurance are a must.

Surf Instructor Sri Lanka - Level 1/2

We’re always looking for a experienced Instructors in Sri Lanka

We require a surf coach with 2-3 years experience to help us deliver a thorough, detailed and professional weekly surf lesson development plan to include different levels of surfers, theory lessons and video correction sessions. As a key team member you will be required to act as a host throughout a guests stay, attending meals and events and helping the managers to get things done about the retreat.

Experience of working and living in developing countries is a distinct advantage, experience in Sri Lanka even more so. Current surf coaching qualifications (ISA, ASI or equivalent), beach lifeguard and professional liability insurance are a must.
