Following the Soul & Surf tradition of making far-flung and unusual surf destinations — Kerala & The Andaman Islands to name a couple — a little less daunting to sample we have searched and re-searched Sumatra to within an inch of it’s life and are really excited to bring you a Pop-Up Soul & Surf week in Banda Aceh in the northern tip of Sumatra this coming March. It’s beautiful, the waves are great and for now it’s still un-crowded and of course there’ll be daily yoga. And we’ll bring a great little community of surfers, yogis and guys & girls together to enjoy it. As an all-inclusive trip you’re only job is to get yourself to Banda Aceh airport — we can help you with that too if you’re struggling —we’ve got the rest covered.

A small but trusted team from our base in Kerala, India will be here to meet you, greet you, to take you to the surf spots and surf with you, to teach you yoga , to hang out, hell, we’ll even help with your travel arrangements if you’re finding it tricky to work out which flights connect with which. We’ve been there, done that and are here to pass on our wisdom.

Franco & Jazmin, scouted this one for us. If you’ve been to Soul & Surf, Kerala in the last few of years the chances are you will have met them, been charmed by them, surfed with them, been massaged by (one of) them and witnessed one of their magical garden gigs! So you know you’re in good hands. If you haven’t, trust us, they’re ace, we wouldn’t give Jazmin the job title Head of Vibes for nothing. The third host is one of our favourite and most trusted yoga teachers, Lucy, who will be here to take the Vinyasa Flow style yoga classes with a surf-focus but also to surf with the group and look after you.

We’re using a locally owned and run guesthouse as our base. It’s located approximately 300 metres away from the main surf point. The rooms are modern, spotlessly clean, comfortable but fairly simple. When you’re not surfing with us you can enjoy the private, tranquil gardens, laze about, preparing yourself for the daily yoga sessions or have a read and a snooze. Oh, and the foods pretty darn good too, much more than just the Indo staple of greasy fried rice.

This trip is all inclusive (except for the flights): we will pick you up from the airport and begin the adventure!
